You see something in a shop you know a friend of yours would like, and maybe find it a bit funny, although they may not need to actually own it.
There was a time when you would have had three choices. Buy it for your friend, drag your friend there on your next trip, or feel the frustration of wanting to do something and not be able to do it.
Now you don’t have to do that. You can take a picture of it and send it to them. Done. No frustration.
What about doing that for yourself?
If you see something you like, just take a photo of it.
The act of buying often releases the frustration that browsing shops can generate. We see something we like – we have to buy it. If we don’t, we’ll feel frustrated, or perhaps sad and stressed.
Taking the photograph can replace the act of purchasing and remove the stress hormones and emotions from our system. We can accompany it with a thought to tell our friend later. Or to look at it later if we want to think about it ourselves.
We may remember, we may forget, because we have overcome the strsss of that moment. But we will feel better, and we will still have our money!
